Guatemala, 1996 to 2026. Prosecutors count 122 million quetzales in suitcases in Antigua and nobody claims them. A customs network inside the tax authority, which a court found was led by the president and vice-president, falls to wiretaps in 2015, and a United Nations-backed commission helps bring cases against a former president, ministers and cocaine clans. Then the commission is expelled, the prosecutor's office changes hands, and the investigators become the accused while many of the accused go free, until a new attorney general takes office in 2026. Covers Otto Pérez Molina, Roxana Baldetti and La Línea; Alfonso Portillo and Taiwan's checks; the Lorenzana family and Los Huistas; Marllory Chacón; Manuel Baldizón and Odebrecht; José Luis Benito; and Consuelo Porras, Rafael Curruchiche and the CICIG.
