A car bomb in central Budapest kills a police informer and three passers-by, and the bomber is not questioned as a suspect for fifteen years. Heating oil sold as diesel makes fortunes amid killings; a bank lends cheaply to every party; a brokerage sells bonds it had no right to issue, prosecutors say. After 2010 the money is the state's: street lights, tobacco licenses, residence permits, a central bank's foundations, and closed files. In 2026 the government falls and the arrests begin. Covers Tamás Portik and Energol, Jozef Roháč, Tamás Gyárfás, Gábor Princz and Postabank, Csaba Tarsoly and Quaestor, György Schadl and the bailiffs' chamber, Pál Völner, György Matolcsy and the central bank's foundations, István Tiborcz and Elios, Lőrinc Mészáros, Antal Rogán and the residency bonds, and Nikola Gruevski.
