Nepal, 1990 to 2026: a country that lives on what its young send home, where almost every door had a price. A former deputy prime minister was convicted of selling Nepalis the identity of Bhutanese refugees. Gold came through Kathmandu's airport in brake shoes, and a courier was tortured to death over missing gold. A former anti-corruption chief was convicted over the land beside the prime minister's house. Cooperatives lost billions. Foreign insurers paid for rescues that, police say, were staged. In September 2025 the young burned the parliament, and court files burned with it. Covers Top Bahadur Rayamajhi and the fake Bhutanese refugee scheme, Chudamani Uprety and the 33-kilogram gold case, Deep Basnyat and Lalita Niwas, Rabi Lamichhane and Gorkha Media Network, and Deepak Bhatta and Infinity Holdings.
