Read it:
Omaha, 1930 to 1985. A boy whose father loses his job when a bank fails in 1931 grows up to run an investment partnership out of a bedroom, moves it to a small suite on Farnam Street, and writes his partners a letter every year setting out what he did and how it ought to be judged. The letters are the argument: a decision made today cannot be scored today, and a yardstick chosen in advance is the only defense against the story you will tell yourself afterward. Then a Los Angeles lawyer persuades him that cheap and terrible is the wrong trade, a dying textile mill consumes twenty years, and a box of chocolates changes the arithmetic. Covers Warren Buffett, Charles T. Munger, Berkshire Hathaway, and See's Candies.
